Discover everything you need to know about Saudi Arabia Hiking Trails. A comprehensive destination guide updated for 2026.
The Asir mountains in southwestern Saudi Arabia offer a completely different trekking experience than the flat desert. With peaks reaching over 3,000 meters (Jabal Sawda), the region is misty, cool, and heavily forested with juniper trees.
The Al-Soudah Park area features several established granite trails that wind through the peaks of the Sarawat mountains. Alternatively, the Rijal Almaa trail takes you from the high altitude heights down into the historical stone village. Due to the rapid changes in weather and dense fog, it is highly advisable to hike with a local guide who knows the terrain and can navigate the frequently low-visibility conditions.
